Florida Maritime Museum fountain restoration

Posted on Apr 29, 2016 in Uncategorized

Three weeks of rubbing, scrubbing, chipping replacing and grouting.

This remarkable water feature in the courtyard of the Maritime Museum in Cortez now has a little more of its original splendor. Built by local landscape designer, Alan Garner in the 80’s it has had to withstand Florida’s grueling climate and the salt air environment.  Not having had a good cleaning in over ten years, the Museum contracted with Splashmosaic to clean her up and replace all loose and chipped tiles. The job took almost a month but was well worth the effort and the new fortified grout coat should help keep her sparkling for some time to come.
